Hi My name is Jag, I am new to this forum (obviously). I will be doing my m1 exit next week, hope I pass and I have driven before but just a little bit.

My first riding experience was with my 2 cousins, probably not the smartest of trainers. They basically told me to just drive, I was excited and they also didnt mention where the brakes were, since I had to stop I figured that out.
also they both sat on the bike with me, and i drove for about 30km. Thank god I was in the middle of a desert on a ****** bike with no one around.

I drove a couple of more times after that but it has been two years, I never had problems with shifting or the clutch, could be because I love driving and I really pickup things quick.

I plan on getting a starter bike, like a 250cc because of insurance mainly, but also because I want to improve on my riding skills before I get a more powerful bike.

I have had some fast cars and drivin some fast cars at high speeds on track days and what not, so I am use to quick acceleration and high speeds in cars, but I dont know how it will be on a motorcycle. Hopefully the experience from cars transfers over and I dont get butterflies like you do the first time you go real fast or accelerate quick.

Hopefully I will get a faster bike next year and come out to some track days.

I will be getting a bike within a week after doing the m1 exit course, I have done some shopping around and I have gotten a quote of $1800 for a ninja 250r, which seem reasonable to me. I am 24 and have 1 minor suspension about 4 years ago. By minor I mean 1 month.

Welcome!!

Welcome. Take a course. Be extra careful on the bike...there are a lot more dangers out to get a noob rider than a driver.

Thanks guys/girls.

Yeah I have the course booked for next weekend at learning curves, getting all the gear together. I hope I pass.

Welcome aboard.. I've seen useless (talent-wise) people with zero experience pass easily, so you'll be ok. Just do what the instructors tell you, nothing more, nothing less.

Hi Jag, it seems like that site is down right now but from my experience with the course at Sheridan, they are not too fussy about what type of glove you have for the course as long as they cover your wrist.

It was raining and snowing the weekend I did the course last April so my gloves kept getting wet and I went through several pairs. None of them were actual motorcycle gloves. One pair were leather insulated winter gloves and another pair were insulated work gloves.

Good luck with the course. It is a lot of fun! Ripping around the parking lot on a CBR125 was a great introduction to motorcycling for me.

Thanks, I think it's raining next weekend on sunday, ill be taking a extra pair of gloves and maybe jeans incase I get soaked.
I'm pretty sure they gloves I ordered are waterproof though, also what about pants, are jeans fine?
Can't wait excited.

Welcome!!
