Anyone have experience insuring Italian non-superbikes such as the Aprilia Shiver 750? Insurance should still be cheaper than 600cc sportbikes right?

Not necessarily true,
Some insurance companies will calssify bikes as Crusier, Tourer, SuperSport and such, eg. Primmum Insurance does it - They will give you cheaper insurance than the 600cc sport bikes.
Insurance companies such as SF, that look perdominatly only at cc count and dont classify their bikes, you would pay more for the Aprilia than the cheaper 600cc, because of the higher cc count.
But the year of the bikes, rider experience and licensing will affect insurance.
Head over to the insurance sub-section and give a few places a call for a quote to get that ball rolling.

Jevco classed my Ducati Monster as an SS........didn't make any sense but pretty much if it had a ducati logo on it, it's classes as SS. This was 3 years ago though.
