so at least 3 times this month some joker calls me tell me that me or a member of my family has entered me in a contest, and i have won a free trip.
so they go on reading off of a script. blahblahblah but all they need is a credit card to confirm my winning.
sometimes i tell them i don't have a card and they soon hang up on me. other times i screw with them and give them a number but add like 6 numbers and give them names like jacques meoffe, seemore butts ,etc
so is this a scam or i'm i just talking myself out of a trip?

Maybe its a trip to see the Nigerian Prince......

Sounds legit man.

Let me guess, the man calling will have his associate who's a prince from somewhere in the middle east deliver the tickets and 50 grand to you all you have to do is confirm everything to do with your id?

This BS has been going on for years. Is it one of those 'you only have to come to our presentation to pick up your prize'?

Suggestive selling approach by travel agencies. Good deal, i say take it.

I've gone on a few free vacations thanks to these calls. It's completely safe to give a stranger your credit card number to claim your free prize for a contest you never entered.

Time share!

Or

Complete Scam!

Win the lottery? Never bought a ticket? Hmm... Sounds legit.

Ask them for THEIR credit card number so you can confirm they're legit.

Sounds legit man.

If you have to ask a question whether something like this is legit or not you've already lost, and chances are you are going to have a very difficult life.

I got a voicemail saying I won 2500 points. I deleted the voicemail right away.
