What do you think about this offer from a local Ford dealer?

$28,000.00 plus HST for:
2010 Mustang GT w/ 3.73 limited slip and track pack. is a demo model with 4300 kms on it. will give the remainder of the 5 and 3 year 100,000 and 60,000 km power train and bumper to bumper warranties with roadside assistance. I looked at the car and noticed some rust on the rotors and underbody. I drove the car and it felt good though the gearbox felt a bit crunchy. I had made an offer for $25,000.00 and I wanted all the fluids changed and all the brakes replaced and the counter was $28,000.00 plus HST for the car but with nothing changed/replaced. What do you all think?

I wouldn't worry about the rust on the rotors, its not a big deal and it will rub off after a good drive. You see it all the time, its just a bit of surface rust. As for the price it doesn't seem to bad. Typically when you buy a car off the dealer they change the oil before they deliver it to you, at that low of kms its the only fluid that might need a change. 28000 plus 13% is 31640, maybe go back and offer 30000 all in or something similar (likely some other fees in there as well), nothing replaced and see what they tell ya. Doesn't hurt to counter with an offer of your own if you are uncomfortable with the price.

28k for a car is insane.

buy an older/faster mustang for 5 k, and use the rest for a down payment on a house

people that buy new cars are either stupid, or rich.

Those 2k10 stangs do not have the new 5 liter engine in them. It's a 4.6 L v8 that makes about 315 hp. Buy a brand new v6 and it'll make 306 (5 liter makes over 400). Ford changed the body in 2010 but the engines in 2011. They're probably having a hard time unloading the 2010's with the less powerful & more gas-costly engines.

PS, not really a great deal imho, and I'm saying that as an owner of a 2010 mustang. For that $$ I'd go with a 2011 or 2012 v6. Same horsepower, slightly less torque an 30+ mpg.

Thanks for the replies. I passed. I'm actually doing this for a buddy of mine. It's a long story.

Agreed.

I also wouldn't buy a car that new with rust on the under body. My 2001 Jettas did not have a speck of rust on the underbody (the last one was written off 2 years ago), my 87 Porsche 944 only has very tiny amounts of it, and my 97 SAAB 900 that hasn't been that well taken care of also only has a very tiny amount. A car that new shouldn't have any IMO.
