Hi, does anyone know if there a difference between car HID and motorcycle HID?
They look the same to me.
Thanks

the bulbs no

the ballasts yes, you can get slimmer/smaller ones for bikes, but those will work for cars as well the bigger ones will work as well if you ahve the space to install them

so really there is no difference

just don't buy cheap stuff, or you will be constantly changing either the bulb or the ballast

get them here

from the Mississauga dealer

there is a huge difference between card and motorcycle kits

cars can regulate the power much better that motorcycles can, so motorcycle kits have a built in capacitor, as well they should only be AC and Digital Ballasts. check out Dynamic Innovation HID Kits. Check out the reviews on them from Daytona Motor Sport

+1 for Daytona and the HID kits from Dynamic Innovations. Digital, Slim, A/C and Motorcycle Specific HID Kits

Without a projector no. They're all terrible. After that the ballasts as some have said. Daytona seems to have some of the best deals on a proper kit

i believe Daytona also has projectors last time I was there I saw em. but ya, they have the most reliable and resonably priced MOTORCYCLE HID Kits :)

Motorcycle electrics have load shed circuits to turn off the headlight and other unnecessary electrics when the bike is started. If you install an HID, this load shed circuitry causes the bulb to restrike. HIDs suffer under such duress; they may not restart properly. You'd have to install a delay start relay in the HID circuit to prevent this condition. Otherwise, HIDs for cars and motorcycles are electrically the same. Some motorcycles have dual filament H4s, others dedicated low and high beams. Depending on your objective, you might need special HID fitments for the dedicated function, means possibly special projector lenses.
