Is State Farm trolling me?

It's gotta be a high crime neighbourhood.

Did you move closer to a city center?

More traffic where you are...or more claims in that postal code.
Brantford is higher rates with SF than Markham....crazy since its a tiny city with only 85,000 people....but they say that people in Brantford take a longer time to heal than people from other places. You can guess what that means

LOL.

I gotta think theft rates might be sliiiiightly higher too.

Actually the opposite. Right on the edge of the town.
The way they explained that to me is that yeah, more accidents in that area. I'm suspecting since it's Conestoga college area that means wreckless students. FML

lol I think Chevy trucks are the worst to insure in that area.

nah cuz mine went up from $150 to $158 as well. I forgot what their justification was...

Same justification for me when I moved from Oakville to Mississauga. Can't remember exact amount but I think it was around the same amount.

I moved four intersections and my insurance went up 12 bucks a month... lol

Theft rates have very little to do with affecting premiums. Buying a new bike for a rider is peanuts compared to paying him a half a yrs salary for being off work, paying for his rehab and surgery etc.......imagine how much extra it costs them when the rider plays hurt for an extra half yr.....betcha $100,000 or more.

yep for sure. The longer to heal thing though, lol

Thats exactly how she explained it to me over the phone.....in Btfd they take longer to heal from accident injury. I could almost hear her rolling her eyes over the phone. Btfd's finest....lol

A bit irrelevant to the initial post.

I'm 20, turning 21 in Feb, and currently pay in excess of $300/month with TD - and they won't even insure me on a SS. I don't expect my father to obtain his M1 anytime soon with the hopes of insuring me; however, I've heard that StateFarm will allow a G holder (w/o a motorcycle licence) with 5+ years of experience to insure a motorcycle. Any merit to this claim?

Use your head, why would they insure a non-M class licensed driver on a Motorcycle? How does that even make sense? Hey, I have my G and M, do you think they'll insure me on a big rig?

Brantford must be closer to the ozone layer hole slowing down the healing process with all the extra radiation ;)

My insurance with StateFarm is around $60 a month(250 ninja). They did not take the money out of my account until this month for the entire year.. All of a sudden there was a charge over $200. Sadly I wasn't expecting this for December.

StateFarm did not charge me at all for insurance this year and sent me a letter with this info and was going to pull the money form my account. Basically said we screwed up and want our money so without your permission we are going to charge you more to make up for the loss. Our mail that comes to the house is mainly Bills that are paid before they show up since they are all direct billing and flyers for the best pizza or chicken wings or crappy tire, etc. So we check our mail box about once a month roughly. I'm a jerk that ends up getting the key and all his mail is in a larger box(sorry neighbors!).

There was no claim made by me at all this year and no tickets(well that got added to my record). Spoke to the insurance Rep I dealt with and she had no idea of what was going on at all. Head office caught this and didn't tell my local branch who would of actually called and gave me a warning about the incoming charges to my account.

All I'm saying is in short... Sucks your premiums went up but at least you got told they were going to charge you more money...

I've taking them off direct billing and going to pay VIA Credit Card from now on so I don't have this BS happen again.

StateFarm rant over... Sorry...
