have my m2 licence since august 2011 , i am still at m2. i ride a gs500e and i am 40.

my renewal has gone up to $870.

i have one minor ticket on record.
 
who are you insured with? You won't know until you compare with another company, but your premium looks a little rich.
 
Try TD or meloche monnex... especially the latter if you belong to any professional groups or are alumni of a university. So far I have received my best quote through MM.
