Is it worth my time?

Today I had my bike parked out front of work and a cabby pulling a u-turn clipped the front wheel. Luckily the bike stayed upright and didn't wind up on it's side. A coworker was on the ball and was able to get the plate number as the cabbie took off. There's no injuries or damage to the bike so the police won't come and do a report so I was directed to go to a collision reporting centre.

Here's my question: is reporting this worth my time? No damage so no insurance/repair worries but the guy did not stop even to say "oops, my bad" so I don't own him any favours. Opinions?

If you're bored, report it. I hate cubbies

Unfortunately as there's no damage, nothing will happen. I say 'unfortunately' because, from the sounds of it, the cabbie didn't know whether there was damage or not when he rabbited.

I'd probably be calling the cab company and having a conversation with them. But I'm petty that way :p

Let me apologize on behalf of him. "Sorry"

Its almost like getting into a fight with someone for tapping shoulders. I am certain you have better battles to fight.

If it wasn't incredibly inconvenient, i would report it.

People that drive for a living should be held to a higher standard, a pile of hit and runs on their record will either make them improve their driving (wishful thinking) or stop. Either way that makes the world a better place.

There's also the issue of it possibly not being a person who has appropriate licensing, who is driving the cab. I got broadsided by a cabbie, back in 2001, and the cab was licensed to one person, the insurance was to a second (corporation), and the drivers license didn't match either. The displayed name didn't match any of those. I couldn't get police to come out for it either.

What are you complaining about? seriously he probably didnt even notice

Some bikers are just cry babies. Im going to make it a habit of reporting people that look at my bike for too long.

How inconvenient is complaining to the cab company about this guy they hired?

Maybe he won't notice the little kid he clips next time. He drives for a living, can't tell distance or doesn't care. This is who you want on the road around you and your family? What does looking at your bike have to do with anything?

You are absolutely correct! This is a grave injustice to humanity! The horror, the horror.

You are equating touching rubber to "clipping a kid".

The OP mentioned that his biked was "clipped" this is a vague term. No damage what so ever. So the "impact" would most likely be the front wheel touching the body of the cab. We are talking about something so insignificant here. I compared it to someone brushing against my shoulder. To emphasise how ridiculous this is.

The cabby here is just trying to make a living. Last thing we need is ****** bag bikers complaining about every little thing.

Ive been rear ended by a bicyclist that cracked my rear light and scratched my exhaust. Didnt get an apology. Was I going to report it? No. Would he have paid a dime? No.

Some battles are just not worth it. Like I said, if you have nothing else in your life, go ahead make a difference. Report every person that touches your shoulder, looks at your bike, or "clips" you.

Sorry dude, but I can't help but laugh at this.

Where exactly do you think you're calling? The school board? Just how receptive do you think they're going to be when you call to complain?
