If you like to ride, get the motorcylce that you want, and a winter beater car for the cold months.

I have a truck and a bike. Nice to have both. Hop in the truck on the rainy days. The bike is a sunshine machine.

I began riding in the 70's when owning and operating a bike was actually much less expensive than a car. I didn't get a car until a few years later when I got tired of using the bus over the winter.

If you only have the cash for one choice, go with the more practical one, a car! Cheaper to insure, good in the rain or snow and more useful year round.

Cars are always dirty and rusty, heck a lot of them even have rust and corrosion showing when they are still inside the dealer showroom! You don't want one of those things :/ way too hard to keep clean.

I'm into both. Park the bike for the winter, put proper winter tires on the Mustang and I'm good to go!

I bet the bike looks nice, how's the rock salt and calcium chloride brine treating your Mustang?
... all my winter cars and trucks are sitting outside and slowly dissolving as we speak.

I did about the same because my bike insurance was about $50 a year when the car was $200. I rode all winter on a light bike and found a girlfriend who had a car.

lol Even the Ford salespeople don't say that. They ask if you'll drive it in the winter, and steer you towards another car if you say yes.

Same here. The Tuono is a fair-weather toy and the STi is an all-weather hoot. I don't put a lot of money toward the STi now -- mostly just maintenance and upkeep stuff for it -- as the Tuono satisfies the need for speed.

I'm also a car and bike guy. Store the bike in the winter. Put winter tires and rims on my two seater convertible. When it's sunny and -4, I put the top down and it's as close as being on my bike.
(I Krown spray the car every Nov.)

Love bikes and cars. Each offer their own experiences. Generally, bikes require more involvement from the rider.

4 wheels can be cheaper to insure and offer the convenience of jumping in and going. Less worry about weather.

Can’t say one is better than the other but, this being a motorcycle forum, have to give the edge to 2 wheels. Lol.

I prefer both -- bikes in the summer, trucks in the winter. I used to like performance cars, after spending way to much on many of them I now go for utility 4WD pickups.

Define 'get into'
Most fancy/classic cars are fair weather summer toys anyway, same as motorcycles.
If your trying to decide between full time transportation(not a toy) and deciding between a bike and a car the choice is obvious.
Get a car.

If your looking at toys, cant beat a bike.

It isn't a matter of "what's better".

"4 wheels move the body, 2 wheels move the soul"

There is no car that is a proper substitute for a motorcycle. There is no motorcycle that is as functional in winter as a car.

Has anyone here ever bought a bike from the states and brought it over?
I'm seeing some really good deals, even factoring in the weak Canadian dollar difference it's still quite a large savings.

;)

Let's ask him!
Hey Marrish what motorcycles do you ride or are you just a figment of some sick cagers imagination?

I'm into both. The cars get more use. The bikes seem to actually cost more to fix despite having less wrong with them. Probably because when I have bike issues it's engine problems while car issues are usually just ancillary junk that I can fix myself easier.
