Iphone 4 - Best deal?

So my blackberry is almost dead...and I've been wanting to move away from my blackberry to a Iphone.....

Where would be a good place to buy a Iphone 4 out right? Kjijiji?

Even a used one would be ok, but Im worried about blowing $400 on a used one and having issues with it down the road....

I say bite the bullet and buy a iPhone 4s from the apple store. But if it ain't in the budget kijiji is your best bet. Just thoroughly inspect the housing for cracks and check for water damage. There are water indicators at the bottom port and for the 3.5mm jack also.

Can't get some credit for a new phone from your carrier?

If not, buy new from kijiji spend a little more.

my opinion, when getting a phone like that i would just go with a contract and pay less for the phone. just find a good plan. i know with some of them they used to have Data plan optional or you could cut the Data plan after about 2-3 months of owning the phone. but not sure if you can do that these days.

I recommend you enjoy an iPhone 4S if you can, but an iPhone 4 is an amazing device the same way.

you should make sure that the iPhone works with the carrier of your choice (rogers, etc), the sim card for iphone 4 is smaller.
would be cool to make a call before purchase too.

A used iPhone 4 should be ok, unless water damage.....play around with it before purchase, once it is working, you should be fine, just check for dead pixels or anything else your eyes can see, try turning on and off the phone.... an iPhone will never brick(guaranteed).

its very important for a buyer of a used iPhone to check the modem firmware on an iPhone, to make sure it doesn't say 06.15.00.
settings/general/about, thats all..... don't worry about the version, once it doesn't say 06.15.00, buy it.

06.15.00 modem firmware was taken from an iPad 3G to make an unlock, so that the iPhone can work with any carrier(jailbreak was required), but only a few people had issues with it dropping wifi signals and gps. Mostly found on iPhone 3G and 3GS, but nowadays iPhones usually come unlocked, so not much of an issue.
A quick ask of, was this phone jailbroken, to have an idea, but still check modem firmware.
Even if it was jailbroken, and is back to stock, phone is 100% OK to purchase(my word).

i Prefer a Jailbroken iDevice over stock, anyday!!!

THANK YOU! That is the kind of information I was looking for...

I have a 32gb iPhone 4 if you're interested, AppleCare warranty until August 2012. Have to get it exchanged at Apple, so you would be getting it brand new. $450 if you need it factory unlocked, $400 locked to Fido

Plenty of good deals out there. Worried about getting screwed, stick to buying from ppl you know. I've passed down a lot of my gear to friends and co-workers over the years. There is always some risk in buying off kijiji or places like it. If you can't sleep at night because you are too worried about it, spend the extra $ and get a new one.
