So here is what happened (tldr started 1200, raised to 1680, 15 days later after cancellation requote 1200!!!)

started with intact 2 years ago on a 03 z1000.
~$1200/yr pretty happy (no collision)

raised the rate over those 2 years.

Finally broke the camels back on this renewal (would be for the 3rd year)
- no record
- no claims
- plenty o years licensed, fully M, etc
- 29 yrs old turning 30 in 2 months
- loyalty discount an all that with intact.

So I knew there was rumour about an Intact rate increase for late Feb...fine, so my broker also re iterated that numerous times before I cancelled.

Fast forward 3 weeks, im looking, shopping, phoning, pleading, etc my case for a reasonable rate with various companies to no avail.

I do one accurate Kanetix quote yesterday and it says INTACT -$1400 /yr full insurance... Im like wait a minute...
So i re quote without collision and its $1250...
then i try insurance hotline.ca and get the same results..

call the broker offing that rate, speak, etc.

Call my original broker and they offer me an even better rate..

wtf is going on these days? are the big companies actually trying to squeeze people or is it even possible for the great Intact increase of 2013 to be a 400$ decrease for me and me alone...like come on...

So if I had of signed on for $1680 on February 22, then my rate would have been 1250 on Feb 23...some expert please explain that to me...sounds like b/s.

My insurance is underwritten my intact. When I bring it to the company that requotes , done anonymously, come up even cheaper than the previous year, they claim that it's not accurate without my drivers license number!

Fine, they want to squeeze me for $100.00 this year? , they lose my premium all together next renewal.

And the only change is a ticket expired !
