my dad wants to get his own insurance, he has always been insured under my moms name but now needs his own. Now little did he know, when he called the insurance company he has 9 tickets in the last 3 years!! So obviosuly most will not touch him. Who would however touch him and what would be looking at for like a used pickup truck if he did get insurance?

he is 73 years old..not your normal 73 as he is like a 50 year old, very active and not frail one bit. Thats the problem really!

9 tickets in the last 3 years? Are they parking tickets? How would someone not know about 9 tickets?

Oh he knew he had tickets but maybe like 3 or he was in denial.

I know someone "cough cough" that had 6 tickets a few years back. For a 10 year old civic, he was getting quotes of 750 a month. Down to 1 ticket now which will expire next month Good luck

No offence, But on paper the insurance companies are looking at a senial old man with horrible judgement.
Facility or insurance fraud is going to be your only options and get the lube ready as well.

I agree with the previous posts. Insurance will be expensive. Kingsway handles facility insurance but taxis might be cheaper.

You have to pick a path through the mine field or pay big bucks.
When will the tickets (or enough of them) disappear off the radar and can he wait until then?
Can he find alternate transportation until then?
Hire an old cronie as a chauffeur?
Are the tickets the result of a particular event or has that always been his driving lifestyle? Will that change? A traumatic event in a family will often cause a person to lose focus and more collisions and violations are common.

You can look into commercial insurance. If he needs a pickup id guess he uses it for work? If he has a business he can insure it under the company. I know a girl who had a few tickets and a dui who did this and was paying $300 a month

Worth checking but a buddy had to let one of his techies go because the guy's driving record was making insurance too expensive for the service van.

I just know it was way cheaper, it was the only way she could drive.
