Insurance to own a bike in Europe

I'm moving to London England for 4-5 months and would love to get a motorbike while there. Will it be an issue trying to get insurance since I don't live there? I'll be in a rented flat that will be arranged by my employer before I arrive.

Trying to get a sense of my options. Thanks.
 
As long as you have a valid work visa, you should be able to call up an insurance company to give you insurance normally.

Similar experience here. They said I needed either a local D/L or a Visa that entitles me to work for the duration of my stay. Have you looked into seeing if Traveller's Insurance will cover you in a car?
