Hello,
What companies/brokers is worth calling regarding the renewal? North York, ON
So far on my list I have: RidersPlus, AllState, TD, Desjardins.
Or maybe there is a post that I missed?

Thanks!

Find a broker and they’ll look at multiple options.

TD has the PEO discount which helps out a lot in my case.

Chris is a rider and has taken very good care of me over the decades.
Tell him hi from down under.

When I requested a quote from Paul South at Surnet, he said he couldn't be competitive with Desjardins when I asked for a quote for moving everything to them - bikes, cars, property, umbrella, etc.

When was this? We moved everything to Desjardins in a package deal last year, as they were definitely the cheapest. Then, per Ontario norm, our renewal came this year with hefty bumps on our home and car coverage, and small increases on the bikes. Ended up going through a broker to get Aviva coverage on the house (way better coverage) and car (about the same) for $900/yr less than Desjardins wanted, and then was able to get a matching rate on the bikes from TD to what Desjardins was charging after the 20% Ride & Drive discount. I expect I'll be doing the same song and dance this time next year.

BC may not be much cheaper, if at all, but I will take the transparency and simplicity of dealing with ICBC and a third-party for comprehensive every time. So much simpler, and you don't have to spend the better part of a full day every year calling around for quotes when the 'deal' you got the year previous expires and they try to take advantage of people's lack of time by jacking rates in year two...
