Insurance on Rental Motorcycle

A friend got his M1, did a course and failed miserably, asked to see if he can borrow my bike to practice in the parking lot. HELL NO!!

I ask him to try one of those rental places. There are some that offers a pretty good rate for an hour of practice but how does the insurance thing work???

Does the insurance of those bike cover the renter? There are some that charges extra insurance on top of the rental rate and others that seems to have an inclusive price.

Usually the rental place provides insurance, thats what happened with my friend. He just paid a set price and it was a insured vehicle ready for the road.

If your friend is doing things wrong will he be practicing doing the same things wrong?

No everyone learns at the same rate and based on what I've heard about bike rental / insurance rates it might be cheaper and better to keep taking the MSCs over again. He didn't fail his course he got his M-1.1. Nine more tests and he gets an M-2.

Wise move not loaning him yours.

Advise your friend to save money on a rental bike and put it towards one on one training with a certified instructor. Not only willyour friends get up to 16 hours on a motorcycle in a controller environment, they will get so much valuable advise and training techniques from the instructor and as a extra bonus they will get their M2 in the process. Pick the school they like or shop around, I think your friend will get good value from this.
