Insurance minor issue

So TD MM's online quote charged me 250/month for insurance. I also checked with State Farm (180/month), but here's the problem. They need you to have your G licensing for 5 years. I would reach 5 years on August 1st (I'm 21). Wondering whether anyone knows of an insurance that will cover me until August, or perhaps another insurance company that is as cheap as State Farm? Going to call Desjardins today and see what they have to offer. I really don't want to wait until August and miss out most of the riding season :(

Thanks !

PS: Those quotes are for a 09 Ninja 250

What kind of bike? Desjardins doesn't insure Supersport motorcycles.

Ninja 250!

EDIT: Desjardins just quoted me $3,900 a year for a ninja 250 worth $3,500. What a joke.

Prices seem accurate if you just got your license.

For my first year, they wanted $3500 of a CBR125. (I didn't ride that year).

Just remember, they're not only insuring your bike, they're insuring you - if you were to hit someone else (up to $1 million - usually).

TD will cover you til August but for June and July will most likely cost you 40% of your yearly premium.

Call different state farm agents, there are ways around waiting full 5 years if you're a couple months short.

also any injuries to you if you're hurt (or death benefits if you're killed). These are usually the highest parts of insurance payouts.

WHAT? Dude i called desjardins and got quoted $250 for a 650r ninja 2009, this is all with me being 17 yr old male, 0 riding experience m1 since last november and g2 since 2 days ago....think you need to give them a call

I asked about a 250ninja they said $1300 a year...pretty sure you can get a better quote though I was expecting them to ask me for $5000...this is the only reason why im finally getting a bike :D

EDIT LIABILITY ONLY

Hey, I called at least 20 insurance companies when I first got my M1 about a month ago. State Farm was the second best quote I got. Try Riders Plus. They were the cheapest by far.

+1

Get them to double check everything as well as get them to write it own so you can look it over too.

$1,300 sounds way to cheap for you, and you don't want to find that out after you buy the bike.

Unforunately they only insure 25+ (according to their online quote), I'll try calling in.
