insurance for an older standard

I'm thinking about buying a project 84/85 Kawi KZ750 as a cheap street bike.

28, GM2, no tickets on record, 1 accident in my truck in Jan 2007, woodstock.

I only have 1 quote at $1130 1 million liability only. Anyone know who specializes in a bike like this that I should try or what range I'm looking at paying?

Won't make much of a difference.. I was at just over a G until I turned 30 and got into the $550 range

last time I had a bike insured it was just over 1200 for a 636, ughhhh

For an older standard you're best off with Jevco.. For them, they offer a BIG drop @ 30.. Otherwise, they were on the par with SF since my bike's too old to be blacklisted.

A friend of mine wants to buy an '84 Suzuki GS650. He was told by a few insurance companies that they don't insure motorcycles older than 25 years. He is 41 years old, any idea who would insure the bike for a reasonable rate ?
 
I'm in the same boat. Been paying way too much on my '79 KZ400 for the last couple years, it went up more this year too. Would have been $1065 with Jevco for liability (I'm 26/M2 for 4 seasons insured/1ticket), for comparison my 2008 Ninja 650R with Jevco would have been #1065 for liability!!! I took the 650R to TD Meloche Monnex for $969 full coverage, unfortunately TD doesn't do bikes older than 1985 I think so I'm SOL (if they did it would be like 400 bucks to add my KZ400!)

All of the cheap companies don't do old bikes, Jevco and State Farm seem to be the only guys in the game for these old bikes and it's still too much when compared to new bikes.
 
I have a 1992 Zephyr 1100 ... I pay 550 / year for it, liability only ... tho I'm older then 30
