Initial hello and what not

Hello, I am Ecookman [obviously :p].
Currently I am an off-road rider but hope to change that be the winter at the latest.
I have a year of riding experience and my fave time to ride is - you will all think I am insane but the middle of the winter. Some may ask how is that possible I say simple, one 40 dollar box of screw studs and yer good to go. Nothing beats getting looks of shock/awe/horror when people see you going to the trails in full snow gear on a dirtbike. That and drifting is easy... and plowing through powder is better done on a dirt bike than a snowmobile....imho that is. :p
Back on track - Since I have been a wee little guy who just started walking I have been fascinated with 2 things, Airplanes and Motorcycles. Both of these passions have grown greatly as I have entered and are about to exit High school. I am currently begining the long and hard pursuit of becoming a commercial pilot and the only thing missing is the bike to go with.
Today While doing research into where/how to go about purchasing a bike and the insurance I came across this Forum. It seems like a great community and since I live an hour out of Toronto I think I found somewhere else I can call home, for 2 wheels that is. I hope to get to know some of you, riding soon and doing group rides. :D [job permitting dam summer-school for slowing me down :p]

And I think we all have a "Squid" in all of us at times :p though most of the time i ride well within my limits and rarely push them much. I have a few times and Ive always wrecked so i'm a bit timid of trying anything too exotic, A month ago I passed my friend in a corner and overshot a bit and my rear wheel touched grass, the rear wheel slid out and grabbed dirt really quickly which caused me to highside. The bike landed on my knee and dragged me for a bit. I couldn't walk for a few days due to pain and my shoulder got kinda messed up. Im all better now minus my knee still bugs me if i strain it but NO DAMAGE TO THE BIKE and rode home a few hours later :D. Noobs advice - know your limits stay well within them. [My tire slid out due to the grass being slightly moist and I'm not running a grippy tire for dirt... I've got more of a gravel tire, grass is my worst nightmare its like hitting freshly polished ice.]
