I can't even imagine the delusions and mental trauma he must have went through in those 72 hours.

Just imagine being stuck alone in a small confined air pocket undersea. No light. No nothing. Don't know if a shark is in there with you, although they can smell you. And the oxygen is going to run out at any time.
