I'm looking into buying a pig -- looking for legalities in Toronto/Ontario

As the title says, I have been looking into buying a mini pig for some time. I was going to buy one a few years ago when I was 19, but never ended up getting around to it. I have done my research in regards to taking care of a pig , and it's the similar to owning a dog. I'm looking to see if there are any legalities in Toronto for owning a pig -- I understand its not your typical domestic animal.

Yupp. They're illegal in Toronto. But I Think if u live out of the city they're ok. I looked into getting one of those teacup pigs.

I would just call up your local by-law office and ask. Yes they are "illegal", but that's really to stop people from making a hog farm in hogtown, lol, the irony....

if you already have bought the pig, and are now upset that owning it is iillegal,

might i suggest allowing me to come over and kill it and eat it.

If you can justify lane splitting, you can justify owning a pig... who cares about the legalities?

Pot belly pigs are a no go in Stouffville. Definately check with Bylaw in your area first.

For some reason I am hungry just reading this thread :(

I thought this thread was about hiring a cop privately.

according to the list in post 2 hippos and rhinos are not prohibited. group buy anyone?

Can we do lemmings instead? Was going to vote for the Kiwi bird but they've been nixxed too.

I noticed under the reptile section about lizards exceeding 2 meters and snakes exceeding 3 meters. For lizards is that head to tail or mail section of the body & head? I know quite a few people in Toronto who own igunas that are well over that length. I also quite a few owners who own boa constricters (Sp?) and they are well over 3 meters.

All the above noted animals? Insanely docile. Which brings me back to my time tested arguement about it's the owner, not the animal.
