I'm looking for some good riding around Mt Tremblanc (N of Montreal) as well as closer to home around Calabogie

A friend and I are doing a 2 week ride from GTA to the Gaspe Penisula and on to the Cabot Trail.
On the return we're going to swing north of the St Lawrence and try to find some of the roads we've heard about that are in the parkland north of Montreal.
From there into Ontario around Renfrew, Calabogie, etc.
We understand that both these areas have lots of twisties we'd like to explore.
I'm sure that the knowledge shared by our forum members can give us some good pointers that can't be found perusing maps.
Any help is much appreciated.

I actually just got back 30 mins ago from a long ride in that area. I took the 327 from Lachute up to Mont Tremblant and then back down the same way.

The road surface is quite poor for a good chunk of it to be honest. Very bumpy, lots of tar snakes, etc. There was also a lot of short sections of gravel as they're currently doing road work, which aren't marked well.

That said, in the sections where the asphalt is good and there's no traffic, it's a really fun ride, I would recommend it if you're in the area.

Thanks for the reply - I'll check it out

Earlier this summer I spent the night in Mont Laurier and I took highways 309 and then 307 back to Ontario. I remember the 307 as being a very fun road.

I recently helped someone plan a 13day trip out to Gaspe by going via Calabogie and then north over Montreal and via Mont Tremblant, La Mauricie Park, La Tuque, Chicoutimi and then back down to Quebec City to cross over to the south shore and head to Gaspe. The routes have minimal highway and focus on secondary twisty backroads or scenic things to see for the entire 13 days. If you use a gps and want the gpx files, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send them all to you.

For some of the better roads around the Calabogie area - look in the first post of this thread and scroll down a bit to the Calabogie and Barry's Bay sections:
