Researchers linked daily consumption of just one hot dog or two bacon strips to a 20-per-cent increased risk of death.

I guess that means we have a 120% chance of death now...?

Nuts in particular were said to reduce the risk of dying by 20 per cent.

So now folks who follow this have an 20% chance of immortality...?

Self serving TWAT.

Where are the standards in journalism gone? Sad sad times ahead.

In the words of William Shatner and Ben Folds

Live life
Live life like you're gonna die
Becasue you're gonna
I hate to be the bearer of bad news
But you're gonna die

Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?"

Now, maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
Because you're gonna die."

Sooooooooo, if my math is right; if I eat a hot dog WITH nuts on it, I'll just die normally?

Yetti is prof that this article about bacon is wrong

Its just mis quoted. Its a higher chance to die or not die during the period of the study.

How about this one?

The evidence linking sugar-sweetened beverages with an array of health problems -- including obesity and diabetes -- keeps piling up. And a new study adds one more potential risk to the list: coronary heart disease.

According to a new study, men who drink one sugar-sweetened beverage daily have a 20 percent higher risk of coronary heart disease than men who drink none.

I've had a beverage everyday since I was 18yrs old. I guess my heart must be in the crapper :(
The only adverse effect from a sugary drink for me is a flabby tummy. I've worked out really hard as a kid to get rid of it. Lots of exercise and abwork. Finally figured out how to get rid of it now.

I'd like to know how much this "study" costed and who the hell paid for it. Some of the crap you hear about people doing "research" on is crazy, and 1/2 the time you already know that whatever their "researching"
isnt good for you or smoking a pack a day doesn't increase the size of your weiner so who the hell decided a "study" needed to be done on weather dog food can increase the life expectancy of a hamster by 3hrs.

Alot of anti-meat studies are conducted and paid for by vegan organizations and other companies/associations that would rather we all eat the byproducts of soy bean oil manufacturing. I would not at all be surprised if the author of that article was a vegan herself. In fact, I'd be willing to bet she is...

One simply needs to look at the animal kingdom to observe the effects of eating meat. The baddest animals in the world on the top of the food chain eat meat so Im happy to follow suit. I'd rather be like a lion than like a cow.

They are adding Coronary disease? isn't that a side effect of Obesity (which they already listed)? Talk about double dipping the negatives. They should add the other sub side effects of diabetes in there for good measure. lol
