I wish I was that important

Get on ther highway this morning, traffic is a bit slower in the right laner so I move to the far left. Car come up behind me, and I guess feeling that he had important things to do, moves into the left shoulder to pass me at a rate that would definitely put him on a tow truck.

When I moved into the left lane he was well back of me and I certainly did not cut him off, cut it close or not leave appropriate space. ( to be clear, the car was several hundred yards back)

Stupid M^%&^#@ F%$^&@...

As he went by me he looks over giving me a dirty look

haven't you heard... whenever there is a car and a bike involved, the biker is always wrong. That's how it seems anyways.. Stay defensive for those idiots, then point and laugh when they are booked down the road

nope. I was prob +25-30%. Only moved over due to the slower traffic to the right.
He was well back of me when I moved over

I would argue though that regardless of whether someone moves to the left moving at a greater rate then the other lanes whether at the limit, above or below, that does not endorse using the left shoulder to pass

In his defense (not much of one as he was being an idiot), if you don't have any cars in front of you, move over and let the faster vehicle pass. It doesn't matter how fast you're going. If you're slower than the other guy, let him pass.

I was passing slower cars to my right. Once passed I did and always do move back to the right, whether on my bike or in my car

Nope, shoulder use is never right, but if there is nothing in front of you, and the person behind you isn't happy with your speed, rage will ensue.
Motorcycling isn't a contact sport, so getting out of their way is the safest thing for you to do.

Woah, woah, you're assuming drivers are all using common sense.

Nothing does, short of a collision blocking the road, police presence, and road flares.

How long was he behind you? I'd be ****** if I was waiting behind gramps who's going 3 km/h faster than the column of cars beside him.
He came up behind, did not wait, simply took the shoulder and accelerated to pass. I agree those inhibiting the flow at 3kms over the limit are annoying, this was not the case.

put a "type R" sticker on your bike and ride the fast lane at the slowest speed possible...you'll feel better =P

speed up, stop blocking the left lane.

He can't predict what you bikerboyz gonna do with all your wheelie this and stoppie that. So he did what is called a pre-emptive strike! And that stern look as he passed you by is to let you know that he knew what you are up to and he will NOT put up with your shenanigans (existing or otherwise)!

Just take 10-15 minutes out of your day and follow him wherever he goes. Tailing them for more than a few minutes gives them The Fear, which will cause them to do equivalent harm to themselves somehow before the day is over.

I had a psycho literally try to nudge me out of the centre lane into the empty left (right blocked with parked cars) on University the other day. He was honking and gunning it up beside me on the right. All I could think was, seriously, I ride a motorcycle in downtown traffic. What on earth makes him think I can be intimidated?

And then I figured, he drives a red chrysler crossfire. His life is already more of a disappointment to him than I could ever cause it to be.
