So they say everybody goes down, hopefully yesterday will be my one and only. Had a high side yesterday luckily I was't going very fast. Lost the bag end and it skidded out to the side, eventually it caught traction again and I went flying over the top, luckily I'm a master of the tuck and roll technique. No major injuries that I can tell, just a little banged up with some scrapes and bruises. Bike went down on the right side, rear brake pedal is bent inward and non functional. Engine casing on the right side is damaged and leaking oil, some scraping on the plastics. also seems that the plastics are not centered anymore. When you look at the bike from the front the handle bars and tire look straight but the plastics surrounding the headlight is crooked. and of coarse this happened 2 days before my M test. guess I'll be rescheduling.

so question for all you mechinical/technical guys out there
have any idea what it would cost to replace the engine casing or whatever its called?
I'll post a pic shortly

thanks

Glad to hear you are ok.
Not sure what your black n orange bike is ( assumming thats the one hurt) and depending on what casing is hurt.....Cycle Source may have something used.

Clutch cover if it's on the right side. It's easy to find used ones for most bikes.

Glad you're ok.. Once the adrenaline wears off, you'll probably feel more of the effects of the tuck and roll, but at least it doesn't look like anything serious happened to you or the bike.

yup, I woke up this morning with a few more sore spots and a few more bruises................ahhhhhhhhhhhhh its just a bike right. not my first, not my last, should be relatively cheap and easy to fix. thanks for the kind words everybody.

Hopefully you had frame sliders on yer bike...

yup, sliders and bar ends did their job

You can bend that break leaver back into position without any trouble.

Tried bending it by hand and it wouldn't budge. I guess I'll have to try and pry it out with something

Careful with this, I broke my pedal gear lever trying to bend one back outwards. I wouldn't expect to be able to bend it back to original. You may be lucky but be careful.
