I watched some videos on youtube on how to change out a cpu in a laptop. But the laptops were not the same as mine. So I'm a litte iffy on attempting it on my own. I'm upgrading my T6600 in my asus gaming laptop to a T9800. Should I take it in someone. Can anyone recommend a person who can do this in a timely and damage proof manner. How much should this cost?

thanks,

I can do this for you, cost is negotiable (send PM if you're interested) but turn-around will be quick. Obviously this will void any warranty left on the laptop.

You also have to make sure your mobo/BIOS supports the new chip.

check the Notebookreview forums. They'll have a section for at least your brand

you have to weigh out the cost vs. reward and of all things it's a laptop so it's not even worth doing.

He's already bought the CPU. In many cases you can get your hands on these upgrade CPUs for pretty cheap, so you're not exposed to much financial risk. And if it's a gaming laptop, it has more legs than a regular Core 2 Duo laptop because it's not constrained by Intel GMA graphics.
