I know this is a little late now, but if you get an android phone look at installing "Where's my droid" you can send a text message and it will tell you where it is, direction it's traveling or stationary, etc. Or if just misplaced in home will turn ringer on, even if set as silent and ring.

I had it installed, but i am not getting responses from the cell, so clearly it was shut-off immediatly after found :(

That sucks. I'd try periodically just to see maybe they turn it on and then you can go pay the GPS location a "visit"

What type of phone did u have? If its an iphone u would be able to lock it and use gps to locate it right?

Question? I've not been to Sibbald point in ages. Are the camp sites still pretty good and would you recommend going there for a couple nights of outdoor stuff?

I can't speak for WestEndBikeGirl, but no, I did not :D

If you haven’t done so, call the Telco immediately to disable the phone.

It happened to my mother few months ago and by the time I disabled the phone the next day, it had made its way to Nicaragua and we were left with over $600 long distance and roaming charges. :angry1:

Why not call the park, you'd be surprised...some people are acutally good and perhaps handed the phone into the lost and found.

Did, I left a number for contact in case they return it. Reality is, most "new" phones left behind find a new owner before the original owner realize they are missing the device. I gave up my hope about 2 hours after looking n trying to call it. Lets be honest, Sibbald Point on a Monday (holiday) is full of randoms from all ranges of the spectrum, the chances of my phone landing on the hands of an honest person who would return it is, well minimal..

I have not camp there recently, but did like 3 years ago and it was not bad, I go camping to eat, sleep and drink, so its hard for me to get disappointed.

Thanks, I have always locked my phone so that no friends / girlfriends / chikitas or randoms can just pick it up and use it. hopefully they just do a factory reset n don't have access to my pics n ****.

I did do a lock on the account from the moment I lost the phone, the Tele/company said the phone had not been used or any charges were made.
