Pulled into a best buy plaza this morning to shop around with the visor up going about 10kms when suddenly I see something flying towards my face, next thing I know my eye is killing me! Luckily I was able to grab the little f$&ker before he did anymore damage to my eye!

Sorry pointless thread lol

I hate them, peeling corn yesterday they here all around me, electric fly swatter really snaps when you hit them.

They seem cool

Yup, I used to think riding at low speed with the visor up was okay coming out of a parking lot until I saw a black dot everywhere I looked and realized a fly went into my eye when I looked in the mirror at a light... Had to force myself to cry it out after trying to poke it out with my finger. Good thing I was "stuck" waiting at a left turn traffic light at the time. First time I had a fly floating around in my eyeball... >.<

Being Chinese, I don't even know how the fly got into the slit of my eye... Dafuqq

I got one in the helmet 3 and a half hours from home. It got me on the nose, cheek and eyelid before I was able to pull over and tear my helmet off. Worst feeling ever, because I had to try and stay calm while it continued to sting me so I didn't dump the bike. And then a throbbing 3.5 hour ride home.....beauty!

I had a nest I had to get rid of around my house. Hornets stings like a mofo

Gotta love when the hit you on the neck and fall down inside your shirt. People looking at you as you ride with no hands beating the crap out yourself trying to kill the bugger as it stings your chest.

I tried sticking my fingers in my eye trying to pinch it out but having thick leather gloves doesn't help. At that point, I was kind of hoping that the fly didn't recently land in a pile of ****... lol

Motorcyclists hate yellow jackets, but they love us! I don't think I know anyone who hasn't been stung at least once - even wearing full face and all the gear - they seem to be able to find their way in and under and around. I spent half a day in a walk-in clinic on my trip to South Dakota the beginning of August from a yellow jacket sting - not an allergic reaction but an infection from the stinger - seeing as how they love to hang around garbage as well as motorcycles I guess that's understandable.
I have had them fly up my jacket sleeves, down the neck of jacket, and in my fullface helmet - with the visor down.

No hornet stings yet, but one spiralled into my right sunglasses lens while commuting last week (40 km/h, visor open). It was stunned, wriggling on the shelf of the chin bar. I somehow automatically grabbed it with my throttle hand, crushed it and threw it to the ground. I was shocked that I didn't panic, though it took me a moment to figure out why I was slowing down.

This is the time of season. I got stung on the stomach on Monday when one flew into my jacket and somehow got under my shirt. First time in a long time I have been stung on a bike. Last time (circa 1986) one flew into my FF helmet when I had the visor slightly open and stung me near my temple.

I put my helmet on and was riding out of my driveway when I thought I felt something move inside my helmet, I just shifted it around, seemed to go away. Just as I got on the 401 I see something moving at the side of my vision. A big spider walked slowly across the inside of my visor, right across my field of vision! I flipped the visor up thinking for sure the wind would blow him off. When I put it back down he was still there and seemed upset and jumped on my face and tried to crawl up my nose to hide :( Can't believe I didn't crash.

I can imagine a bee being in there even worse!

Had a mosquito sit on my eye lid and go to town. Was riding a 500lb bike on a logging road following some friends, so didn't try stopping. Eye swollen shut that evening.

Long story short..

Bugs with stingers inside your helmets/gear really suck.

Gonna double and triple check my helmet and give it a good shake from now on...I don't want to imagine what would have happened to me if that happened. Hate hate hate spiders

I have done this exact thing - happened to me on a winding road in NC with absolutely no shoulders. My nose grew three sizes that day

The only story I got was from about 2 years ago. Riding home from work I see something large come at me. I knew it hit me, and I was pretty sure it was a bee/wasp. I brushed my shoulders and my neck. Felt nothing. Carried om home. Parked the bike in the underground; took my helmet and gloves off; unclipped my tail-bag and went up the elevator to my unit. Inside my unit took off my jacket and... holy smokes... I find a HORNET on my jacket!

It was just sitting on the mesh part of the back of the neck on my ICON overlord. Not real collar to the jacket, but it was right at the edge of the jacket. I imagine it was exhausted from holding on for the ride home, and mentally drained after resisting the urge to sting me - thus being the friendliest hornet ever.
