Just did my second. They haven't been a big deal, but having a procedure done is never fun. 10 polyps removed this tim whatever that means.

My wife was a big fan of Fentanyl plus Medazolam. No bad feelings at all about the process. Upper Canada Lower Bowel Clinic. Good breakfast place right beside to reload the digestive tract after the fast.

That's a lot. Not to raise alarms yet, but I would expect a follow-up.

Propofol is good stuff, Michael Jackson approved! (well, at least until the last one)

Yeah have to agree with what @Wind Shear said, that's quite a bit, and def should be a follow up with the doc to make sure they got it all, if it was easy to remove, and when you have to get scoped again.
The procedure is the easy part, you forgot to mention the prep before it, that's the fun part!

Had my third worst scope two weeks ago. Prep and procedure was fairly average, but afterwards I was in moderate abdominal pain and just laid on the couch for seven hours.

AND the docs were stingy with the sedatives! I'm pretty sure I only got midazolam and they skipped the fentanyl this time. The only part of the experience the midazolam "erased" was them rolling me back to the recovery room

A few days after my 1st short one, I went for the long one. My surgeon told me... "you'll be lucky to see Xmas without surgery, and I'm booked until spring". That was beginning of May '18.
So.... I'm dying. First thing to do, buy a new Corvette.
May 26, phone rings.....Dr's office calls saying they got a spot in the O/R on the 29th.
They binned 70%-80% of my colon, sewed up my corn hole for 6 months, during which time all dignity was lost.
End of Oct, (6 months later) back in for surgery to reconnect my guts and I haven't seen a dr or surgeon since. (My dr retired during that 6 month bit, and I don't want a new one).

Don't be afraid to go. Extend your life!

I'm not as accustomed to sharing details openly, but I will say, sounds exceedingly familiar.
Except for the "short" and then "long" one. More like a few dozen "long" ones.

I have a custom digestive system as a result of surgeries back when i was 20. Scopes are a really good thing. Colon cancer is a really bad thing.

Keep in mind that you will have some lifting restrictions after having the polyps removed. Not all "surgery checklists/memos" tell you that little tidbit, don't ask how i know.
I really hope your user name here has nothing to do with it.

......................Upper Canada Lower Bowel Clinic........................

Obviously someone at the clinic has a sense of humour. I guess there's a Lower Canada Upper Bowel Clinic somewhere...............

When my spouse had her scope she was quite subdued on the drive home. She told me all about it in detail. Then 2 minutes later she repeated everything she had just said with no memory of the 1st rendition. Those meds really do work.

I been setting myself up for years for the finger at 40+…

Get to the doctor…

‘Alright doc…I’ll bend over’
‘Oh we don’t do that no more….your blood work will tell us if we need more’
😳

FML…I was almost disappointed.

‘Your blood work came 100% clean’
‘Why the eff did I need my gallbladder removed them?’
‘Ya besides that you’re 100% healthy’

Effing hell….

Having Crohn's, one must have regular colonoscopies. I really hate getting them done. I found a new Dr, they used CO2 instead of regular Air while using the scope. As a result after the procedure, I didn't have the typical pain in my intestine.

Interesting! I guess the CO2 is absorbed by the tissue into the blood and then exhaled by the lungs?

I am guessing that it has something to do with the environment. Pumping air containing oxygen into a space that rarely experiences oxygen may upset some of the little critters (either turbo-charged or dead) and maybe even the tissue. I suspect any inert gas would be preferable and they just pick a cheap one.

Sorry but I have to. Every time I hear any mention of bums and compressed air I think of this video.

Oh I believe that is exhaled another way... I know I build up gases in that area after eating certain foods.
