100% in agreement. Too many entitled a$$hats around taking up space that people need. I ALWAYS see people park in the handicap spots at the local church where my kids have scouts, because they're special and rich. Screw everyone else.

And then there's this entitled tool...

Knew someone with arthritis that used a cane. She used to park outside of 578 Front St W, in the no parking 4-6 p.m. zone, because it was convenient to get home, and then walk a kilometre to work. She wouldn't ever get there before 6 p.m. and there was paid parking steps away with handicapped parking that was never used. I used to get stuck in the traffic jam that her single car blocking the right lane would cause every night.
Just my opinion, but you should be in a wheelchair to use the handicapped spots. Everyone else has the capability to walk a little, even if they need to rest on their walkers afterwards. In fact, we'd usually drop my mother in law off with my wife, and then find a regular spot, so that other handicapped people didn't have to wheel through the lot.

Sadly "Handicapped" is a big word now-a-days. With everyone having an "issue" and needing "special" treatment.
I do agree that there needs to be at least one Wheel chair accessible spot that is for wheelchair use only.
Might be a negative opinion, but those "expectant mother" spaces kind of annoy me...

Yeah, have a spot close to the mall doors so you can walk around the mall for an hour or two. Surprisingly my mom survived just fine without special parking and kids.
My wife was embarrassed to use those spots. I had no qualm using them when she was in the car with me and pregnant.

The fat guy BBQ spots I love those use them all the time. Makes it easier to carry my steaks back when I can park close.

Fun Fact: Handicap parking permit holders get 50% off park fees at Ontario Provincial Parks. When a campsite with hydro is now basically $50/night, those savings add up fast.

<No legit need for handicap pass, but sure would take 50% off camping fees since we camp a lot lol>

Another incentive to go see Dr. Nick.

I always laugh when I see someone driving around the gym for 10 min looking for a spot close to the entrance to save 1 min of walking. Only to go inside and run on a treadmill for 20 min. The rules against vandalism should be ignored in case of parking like above. Although, I do feel sorry for the people that have to park like the @$$hat with the white M3 above. Having a car you can't afford to fix a dent in must be cause for a lot of sleepless nights.

I saw a car with a H/C card on the dash parked diagonally in a H/C zone, basically making two other spots unusable.

Parking skills are worse than driving but here is a problem. You come along and see a car over the line and want to retaliate. Maybe they arrived and found a part spot the result of another car parking like a drunk. They squeezed in. The drunk moved after the first driver went into the store.

Not all H/C drivers are obvious. Some even ride. I think COPD is legit for a placard. Without a court order the driver doesn't have to divulge his / her medical condition. The number on the placard should connect to the owner and if it's for a 78 year old, the 20 something using it should be charged. Police access only.

However parking tickets go against the car owner in the long run so gramps gets the bill for juniors laziness.

Gramps may have even told junior that it's OK to use the H/C spots.

H/C signs need to have additional signage. "If trying to find a parking spot nearby feel free to stand on roof of un-placarded cars in H/C zone for a better view. Jump up and down if unhappy."

I was with a narcissist driver who was pounding on the steering wheel because he couldn't find a spot near the mall doors at lunch time.

Like they had to do with parking on Bloor in front of Holt Renfrew, there needs to be towing immediately. The douches don't care about the ticket. They care a lot about their car being gone. Establish a process (eg. tow truck driver takes pictures of vehicle from all sides, pics of plate and pics of front window showing pass (or no pass) and then they can hook and leave. No need to wait for parking enforcement officer. Submit pics to parking office and the owner gets to deal with that ticket and potentially revocation of disabled permit too.

I'm not sure where it was but owners of motor homes were using their H/C status plates to park downtown all night, free.

The parking could be free but all other laws should remain in effect. 3 hour max, no parking is no parking, tag and tow. Ambulances need room too.

I saw a fork lift move a BMW across a parking lot at Port Credit Marina. It was haul out time and the idiot parked in the exit way for the haul outs. They should have used a crane and left the car 50 feet in the air like construction site ladders. (And over the water)

I had a buddy in college with a beater 80s Econoline that pushed more than one fancy pants car two spot angle parking job straight in the college lots when they were packed. Take up two spots in a full lot so your fancy car doesn't get scratched...

Maybe this should happen more often, specially in handicap spots.

Every municipality has it's own rules. Some are more wild west than others. Brampton sucks. Mississauga was better.

Some places have a form of special constable for a designated property. The property owner can have someone appointed for the limited property. Ticket is issued and tow in a few minutes.

Tow a car without proper paperwork and you might get charged with theft and face liabilities if damaged.

As long as you don't cause damage, it's not vandalism to zip-tie shopping carts to their door handles.
