Hypothetical exhaust question dual exhuast slipon with a single exhaust system

Hi was hoping for an answer from someone who is more mechanically inclined than I and knows something about engines. So my Ninja 1000 is a dual exhaust bike but I would like the weight savings and look of a single exhaust. There are a couple of full system exhausts that change the bike from a 4-2-1-2 to a 4-2-1 with only a single exhaust pipe unfortunately they are not compatible with side bags as the single exhausts are to big and would touch or melt the bags.

I have linked the ones available from Akrapovic below. For the time being I am getting the dual slip ons.

What I want to know is if down the road I were to get just the 4-2-1 headers from akrapovic or the arrow 4-2-1 collect header other than than getting a power commander and custom map from a shop with a dyno what issues would i run into? Is this even feasible? Simply put is it possible to use a slip on designed for a dual exhaust on a single exhaust system? If this wouldn't work could someone give me an explanation. Thanks sorry for my limited mechanical knowledge.

The Exhaust cans will not fit the different headers, they are simply different. You would have to modify things to make them fit, just look at the dual cams the mid pipes are welded to the cans end caps, the single system they slip on at the end caps. Also it is very likely the diameter of the pipes is also different between single and dual....And good luck getting just the headers from Akrapovic, no one stocks them separately that I know of, and being a special order would take months. And the cost not even worth it for replacement parts...I needed just the mid pipe for my full system and they wanted $700 and 2 months delivery
