The basic idea is fringe-y loser types who are on the world's ****-heap and think they can "Opt out" of society. I.E. that the government has no say over them if they "deny" the government. That kinda kook has been a round for a long time, but the pseudo-legal mumbo-jumbo bulls*** is a more recent thing created by scam artists preying on these fringe types; the kind of scam artists who are often "getting high on their own supply", if you get my meaning.

The freelander Tard did some renovations to the house, then filed on lien on the property to help avoid eviction.

He tried to use the system he loaths and refuses to follow, declaring himself a soveriegn state.

Anybody explain irony to these idiots?
 
Can I stop paying my property taxes? Mortgage? Licensing fees? Waste Taxes? Water Bills? Gas Bills? but wait....I still want my OHIP coverage, clean water, clean streets, and a place to call home! where do I sign up?!
 
He was arrested and will be shipped back to Quebec to finish facing charges for throwing his last landlady down a flight of stairs.
