Hey bros and gals

Just a quick intro-

Nick name is Vega (vayga), age 29 - Toronto central area. Never sat on a bike before and got my M1 about 2 wks ago. This week should be the training course. Last week I had put a deposit on an R1, but something crazy happened and I pulled the trigger on an '09 Ninja 250 instead. When I'm done manhandling her and become very comfortable I'll get an '09+ R1. Could be a month, 2 months, next yr... Can't say until I reach that point.

Even felt the R6 / zx-6 was like an unsafe option as well. Anyway, I'm looking forward to making new riding buddies.

Cheers
Vega

Sensible thinking and you would be glad that you reconsidered that R1 choice. Enjoy your course.

Welcome!

haha my first thought when I read that name =), good choice on the 250 they are nimble and easy to handle, you'll have fun with it =) enjoy the summer.

Thnx fellas. Yeh, back in the days Street Fighter was huge. I remember there were lines waiting to play the arcades. My friends and me just developed nick names based off the game and some of ours just stuck.

Great site, but it takes forever to load. It's my connection or others are experiencing the same? I don't have any issues loading pages anywhere else including forums

That'll never happen to me. I can go straight to a litre, I had two bikes, a bmx and a mongoose I rode for 15 yrs and I'm mature :naka:

I never sat on a bike until the motorcycle course. Maximum greenhorn ftw, after an accidental wheelie (the clutch is alot more sensitive then a car clutch) I was more or less good all weekend. It was one of the more exciting things I've done in a long time. The biggest thing I learned from it was the whole "look where you want to go" thing. I had a bad habit of looking down until I finally understood what they were saying. I passed the Sunday exam with no errors aside for one small side note for when I stuck out my knee when turning once. You'll love the course and hopefully you have great weather!

Welcome and congrats on the amazing bike!

Good call on that! Welcome to the forums and to riding! I just got my first bike in September last year and I'm 31... it's an awesome fun time but you really do need to watch out for other drivers now because they seem to never see you... just pretend you're invisible when riding around and assume everyone in a cage is trying to kill you and you'll be a lot safer!

That and, slow in fast out on corners, and assume every corner is a reducing radius curve until you've taken it and KNOW it's not, it'll save you going into a guardrail one day. :D
