How to remove GoPro 3M Adhesive Mount?

How easy/hard would it be to remove a GoPro 3M Adheisive mount from a bike fairing or a helmet?

Thanks

P.S
The Interweb says to just use a putty knife or dental floss and just go back and forth until it comes off and apply some heat (hairdryer) to help the process go faster. Will this leave residue?

A friend of mine just did this. I believe he only needed to use a hairdryer and slowly peeled it off. If there is any residue left behind, some WD-40 and a shop towel should clean it up, and not damage the clear coat. I think Goo Gone may damage it otherwise? I know I wouldn't use that stuff on my plastics, but it's up to you.

Your friend heated the area with a hair dryer for several minutes and then gripped the mount with his hand and began twisting it back and forth while continuing to apply heat until it finally twisted off. It took 5-10 minutes.

The guy in the vid mounted it and took if off right away, obviously it's easy to take off right away it hasn't settled like some peoples who have the mount for months stuck on.

Slowly but surely, it'll come off.

Similar process to removing the little chrome name plates off the trunks of cars.

Heat the area and pull the mount slowly while continuing to heat the area. Once you get a corner started, slide dental floss underneath and continue to work dental floss through while pulling the mount away and remember to continue to heat the area occasionaly (easier if you have a friend hold the hair dryer while you work the floss and the mount).

Then, just apply WD40 to get rid of any residue left over. Avoid goo be gone since it's not safe on all plastics.

Cheers and good luck!
