How to remove anti-shoplift tag?

Well, bought some frog togs from RD during the tent sale.
Girl removed the little white sensor thing from the jacket, but there was also one hiding in the pants there were under the jacket.
Any ideas on how to remove it without ripping the pants? Kind of far from the closest royal, and it would seem pretty sketch if I walked in to a random store and asked if they could remove the tag for me lol.

Sucker seems to be pretty tough construction, and I don't want to rip the pants so I think taking the grinder to the thing is out of the question lol.

Dye filled?

Might have to take it back and complain.

You could try calling them and see what they say.

Excuse for a ride?

If its dye filled you need one of the remover tools, they seal it up so the dye cant leak out. Google for it? Theres gotta be a website for shoplifters giving tips on how to remove those with household tools. Otherwise, youre gonna have to go back to the store, make sure you have the receipt i guess...

Happened to me once, bought some pants and the clerk forgot to remove the dye tag.

I ended up chipping away at the plastic slowly with some nail clippers until I could remove the vials of dye, then I just smashed the thing to smithereens!

Can't really get a day free to ride down, it's about 4 hours to the closest one and my weekends are too filled with racing to take the time to go down...
I guess maybe I'll get a small drill bit, drill a bunch of holes in it and disect the thing as cleanly as I can...

There must be another retailer near you using the same system.Go in with your bill of sale and a pleasant smile and ask them to remove it.Sears and The Bay use them i think.

lots of retailers can remove those, but yeah, it don't look good when you walk in with something that still has it attached...google it otherwise what i used to do is use small pliers to wiggle it apart, the dye tubes don't break too easy, then just clip the metal bar with some needle nose...

use a stronger magnet

hold the larger part with 1 hand, and magnet the other side, comes off easy

Before you start to monkey with it, perhaps you could wrap it in packing tape and a plastic bag incase you get unlucky. At least if it goes off it should minimize the mess.

Happened to my wife when we got back from Vegas. Online said to just use a flat knife(I used a butter knife) came off no problem. But it wasn't dye filled just magnetic

the Royal Distributing guys on here actually sent me a PM telling me how to get it apart and that it isn't dye filled... Time for a little destruction!
