If I had to guess, it looks like it was for some kind of TV bike segment. The camera is positioned too perfect to capture that.

It was for Moto Journal, and they posted it on youtube.

What looks strange to me is where the guy was headed - there's a curved asphalt path, with a couple of shorter posts marking the side closest to the water. He goes outside that line - which looks like it's going to lead him straight into those bins anyway!

They were probably setting up for a shot of the bike. Somehow I knew this was from a motorcycle review video or something.
