How much gas left when light comes on?

YamaSaki stopped for fellow biker this morning on the DVP.
He ran out of gas. He was riding a brown Suzuki GSXR 750 with no windscreen.

Yamasaki would like to know how far can you go when the fuel reserve light comes on.

That would totally depend on the bike.

Each bike has a sensor in a different level in the tank, if the bike even has a light. I know my bike (98 Trident) that the light comes on and that means I have about 20km before I need to switch to reserve then I have another 50 km to make it to a gas station.

Reading the manual will be the best way to find out!

Why are you referring to yourself in the third person?

hmm, sounds like a bike I know :)

Most sport bikes come with a 17l tank. Record when your light comes on, find the km-l. I find, at least with kawi and suzi that the light comes on after 13L of fuel has been used. Do a little math, and you can find out how many km you have left afterwards. You can go even further by baby-ing it for one tank, gunning for another , etc

Critical thinking. This is what's lacking in society today, i swear. "can't i just look it up on Google instead of figuring it out?" :sigh:

No far going with no windscreen for sure or so...

On an F4i the reserve bars come on with 3.7L left.

sometimes people like to draw attention to themselves to make themselves feel as though people like them around. sort of like lady gaga, goth, punks, etc.

yamasaki probably looks like this
