Hi all,

I was wondering, when you go into the MTO with your ownership papers, safety certification, and insurance slip, how long does it take them to issue you a license plate? Do you get it right away or do you pick it up later?

As long as you have all your papers in order you should be able to get it on the spot...
 
You mean to ask, how long it take you to get out of MTO and that depends on the line up :)
 
Show up nice and early with all the documentation you noted, and you'll have your plates in hand when you walk out an hour later.

Thanks for the really quick replies. I know the lineups can be really long :). Glad to hear you don't have to wait for days though. Do you know if this can be done at ServiceOntario desks or only DriveTest centres?

I did mine at a Service Ontario office, in Cloverdale Mall (Etobicoke) or the one on Eglinton, between Kipling and Islington (it's actually hidden behind the mall on the north side). Go in on a weekday, in/out in no time at all (if your paperwork is in order).
 
+1 as above...I went to the Cloverdale office right before the lunch time rush and had my plates in 10 minutes.
