How is this possible... insurance for WR250X double that for Sprint ST???

Imagine my surprise when I found out that insuring the Yamaha WR250X 250cc I'm interested in will cost double the Triumph Sprint ST 1050cc I already have a policy for ... what gives?

WR250X yearly amt came out to roughly $850 / year -- is this considered an average and/or decent amount to pay nowadays?
 
Cool bike, but ridiculous rate. I pay that much for a 950 Supermoto, full cov'g with Primmum.
 
LOL I'm paying $460 a year for a Yamaha 350cc, that's even more cc's than yours.

I think it's closer to $450/yr, but in that ballpark. This is for full coverage with Economical (after roughly 50% or 55% in various discounts -- group, multi-vehicle, and multi-line). I know it's cheap, and it's been triple checked already -- I've been told everything is correct (despite the fact that the Sprint RS is on their blacklist).

It was surprising to see insurance for a 250 so high -- cheapest rate I was been able to obtain online was $770/yr with Meloche Monnex. I guess it's time to call a few brokers.

That is very cheap for the Sprint! How did you get them to make an exception to a blacklisted bike?

I didn't have to. They blacklist the Sprint RS, not the ST.
 
Alex, you'd be nuts to ever sell off that Sprint, if for no other reason than the incredible rates.
