How do I get left behind luggage shipped?

Just got back from a weekend trip to New Jersey. Many things went wrong on this trip, one of them being that somehow the webbing for my tail bag disappeared during my stay at the hotel. I suspect housekeeping threw the straps out. Anyhow, I had no choice but to leave it behind. The staff at the hotel are next to useless in helping me get it back home - the full extent of their co-operation will be putting it in a box. I have to arrange shipping and pick-up from here somehow.

Any advice at all how to get it shipped? Which carrier will be best, how to get my own possessions through customs? FWIW it's a 3/4 full Gears Canada Navigator bag, I roughly estimate it weighs 30 lbs. There's nothing in there I can't live without for now, so even if it takes a month I'll survive.
 
Tell them you have medication in it you need now.

You could also tell them you will call FedEx to pick the package up for you.
 
What a miserable experience this is. Looks like I'm going to have to go through FedEx and it's gonna cost me $230.
 
Ship it to the border to save a few $$$. Go pick it up yourself...at least there'll be no duty as it's yours already.

Seriously I need to buy you a drink jc100, I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Not only does this save me a few HUNDRED bucks, the hassle of even attempting to get it shipped directly to me was crushing. I was trying to fill out a commercial invoice for customs and was about ready to slit my wrists, lol.
