How do I check a VIN number on a bike ?

What exactly are you trying to find out? If it was stolen, it would be registered through mto and you wouldn't be able to transfer it (big red flag). if you wanna know if there are any re-calls just call a dealership that sells that brand and ask them to run the vin to check for re-calls.

Any other reason?
 
there's carproof and carfax for cars anything similiar for bikes? Like a report that a bike had been in an accident?

If you count drops and lowsides as accidents then I bet 60-70% of accidents on bikes wouldn't get reported to the VIN #.

It would be too hard to track for motorcycles, UVIP or a keen set of eyes is the next best thing.

In my opinion (newb) those are the easiest to see and the ones that matter the least. I'd want to know about the big crashes where he replaced all the broken bits and probably used a shop to get help cause damage was extensive.
