How accurate is a Laser gun in the Rain?

Hello,

I have a ticket I am trying to fight and I have a question about the Ultralyte LR-B

In the manual it says there is a weather mode for rain and such but there is no real explanation about the consequences of not using that mode.
I am looking into it because he clocked me going over the limit but none of the notes say he used the weather setting and it was raining that day.

Can the rain produce an incorrect speed reading? If so where can I find some proof on that?

Another question. I asked for the disclosure however I only received the officers Notes with his hand writing and abbreviations. I received these Dec 17 2012. Trial is Thurs March 21.

Is it to late to ask for the notes to be typed?

It's too late to expect typed notes at your trial, and unless you originally asked for them typed you won't have a leg to stand on as far as an adjournment

What was asked for in your initial disclosure request? I have no info regarding the laser readings unfortunately.

I'm afraid the answer is not going to help your case. Switching to weather mode actually makes it easier for the gun acquire the target's speed since it removes some of the safeguards built into the programming . Basically the gun discards reflections from under 200 feet I think

Having said that most cops don't explore all the features and I doubt that they even realize what weather mode does.

I own an LRB and it works very well even in bad conditions.

If it is not in weather mode can the rain cause an incorrect speed reading? That's the info I've been trying to find.
