HOV lanes!

Hey, they have it in other places...why can`t our gas-saving bikes be allowed in the HOV lanes here in Ontario??! We should be allowed!!!!!!!!!

Gas saving compared to a tank, yes; compared to a Civic sold by Ready Honda, no.

?? Where'd you come up with this? Bikes are allowed on City of Toronto HOV lanes, but most definitely ticketed on MTO HOV lanes. And while a 125 or 250 will have better gas mileage than most cars, many larger bikes have significantly worse fuel mileage than economy cars.

I agree that allowing Hybrids on the HOV lanes is crap and has very little justification in reality (it's all just a political game), but any passenger vehicle (bikes included) needs the same amount of space on the highway. It doesn't matter if it is an escalade or a bike it still requires ~75m of space. If a pack of bikes travel together, they can use less space, but this isn't a typical commuting scenario.
