House went BOOM...WHY?

Head exploded. Maybe a GTAMer?
 
Rumour is gas leak, but that's a big boom.
 
I hear the male occupant that was killed went by the name Walter White. Alias "Heisenberg"...but may be just a rumor?!?
 
Guessing a natural gas leak. The damage has the typical hallmarks of a NG explosion: lots of pressure splintering and throwing stuff around but not much burning of the wood etc.

Quite the event though, possibly worse than this:

A natural gas explosion would make it look like a direct hit from a bomb if that is the case. If so what caused the leak?

I heard on the report that there are "particules" in the air that they want residents to be away from.

And some people thought the house was empty.

I def think meth lab

I heard reports from neighbours say there was an elderly couple that lived there. So who knows.

As for the particulates, it's a safety thing. For all they know the house could have had asbestos or similar in it. Better keep people safe than have them end up with respiratory issues in future.

possibly had oxygen tanks? maybe didn't wanna stop smoking as well? matter of time?

Not enough explosive power in a typical medical air or oxygen tank provided for home use. You might blow out a window or two, but not a whole house.
 
On reddit and in a CTV news article there was talks of some handwritten letters to god that were found all over the street. Another layer of WTF
