Honda z50 Minitrail

I have always wanted one of these little bikes and finally got one, problem is it needs a lot of work and parts. I cant seem to find a forum for them so I figure this was the next best place to try. It needs a new carb and the gas tank has a couple of small holes in it so I need to source some parts and get some advice. As for the gas tank my thought is this,the coating that they use for tanks with rust in them, do you think that that would stop it from leaking. There are many more questions but I will just ask as I go along.
