By the sounds of their story I wonder if there was another vehicle or just trying to place the blame somehwere else?
"Police are looking for either a Maroon or silver pick-up truck or a grey sedan"?
Maroon or silver seem like to very different colours?

And I have no idea why they would put a 3 lane roundabout on a 2 lane road? If they would have kept it 2 lanes I bet there would be 80% less accidents.
 
It's bad enough at stop signs when the cagers are expecting to have to stop (or close to)... it's much worse at these roundabouts where the cagers are expecting not to have to stop.
