Hockley Valley Road and Forks of the Credit Road

As if being stuck indoors all day isn't bad enough... Cool videos - the side mount is nice but wondering if there is a better place you could mount it to get better forward visibility?

There are extension bars (like 10cm long) that I can buy that would extend it out a good distance. Alternatively, I could 3M mount it to the engine but I'd like to avoid doing that since I'm not sure how hot it'd get. And I'd prefer to keep those sticky mounts off the bike itself. I'll probably order the extension bar.

I don't get the camera angle, you must spend a lot of time in front of the mirror :p

How was it up there? Still pretty sandy/salty?

Indeed I do!

At least get a cooler looking helmet and mirrored visor so we could see forward.

I'll be getting a second GoPro for forward mounting. Then put a small image of myself in the corner. Or maybe just switch back and forth.

Hockley was pretty dry and nice; no sand. And Forks had some wet and sandy spots but the majority of it was nice and clean. It'll probably be bike gridlocked this weekend :)

I mounted a GoPro onto one of my frame sliders at the track. Cool angle and all that but I'm pretty convinced the engine vibrations caused the premature end of my camera.

You can buy handlebar and roll cage mounts that can be used for a variety of interesting mount positions on bikes. I used the roll cage mount on the frame slider.

Personally I like the rear facing front mounting view. It's a good aid to analysing your riding style.

I ended up scrounging the mounting pieces from my other mounts and making an arm for the camera that was about 4 cm longer. The camera angle is much better now (but I can't mount it anywhere else without disassembling, haha).
