Watched the first two parts. I'm really impressed. It's a better documentary than the "Long Way" productions imho. They were good in a Hollywood way. This more down to earth.

The annual pilgrimage to Ladakh. I did in 2008, 2010 and 2011. The best rides of my life!

And you're right, there is preparation that goes into a ride like that, especially with altitude acclimatization, as you cross 3 of the highest passes in the world if you're going from the Manali side. Each above 16000 ft.
