High possibility a Ninja 250 will be stolen if I park over night in Toronto?

I want to go clubbing and definitely not drinking and riding, but I'm scared of my bike being stolen... Any pointers or advice? I'm planning to just park on the street. Do bikes get stolen often?

Take the bus. And yes, i'm serious.

i would be worried more about the drunkies tipping it, puking on it and such

with so many people around during those hours, theft would be my greatest concern

evil lurks around every corner of downtown. dont leave ur house........

u should be fine

Get a ratty old bike that runs well but looks like crap. Ugly enough no one wants it but, still has the cool factor of riding a bike after clubbing. jmo

He will already lose the 'cool factor' by going clubbing in the first place. ;)

Or pissing/puking in your helmet or violating it in some other way.

If I were the kind of piece of **** who steals bikes do you think I'd really have my sights set on a Ninja 250?

if its already in ur mind that the bike MIGHT get stolen, then just dont do it. bus or taxi much better option

Some guys just like walking to places wearing gear because of SMS*.

I bartend at a club/bar on Queen W. A couple of months ago I saw a table with a full face in the middle. I went to introduce myself and offered to check the guy's helmet for him. He said no thanks. For the rest of the night the helmet sat in the middle of the table and his friends awkwardly had to serve drinks around it. I wonder how sticky it was at the end of the night, all I could think of when he said no was what a loser.

OP, leave your **** at home, or get a CAA Plus membership and have them tow your bike and your drunken *** back at the end of the night lol

I'd be more worried about getting it knocked down as a previous poster mentioned. My brand new CBR250R got the tip-over on Queen St. when I parked to see a movie last weekend. Drunks and general ******** like to mess with bikes, it's a fact of life.

If you had an SS bike... perhaps?

You really don't have to worry about a 250 being stolen, now, messed with by drunks on the other hand...

As much as theft is a larger problem in TO than in other areas, I wouldn't worry about it. You have theft insurance don't you? I know it would suck to have it stolen but it isn't worth worrying about IMO. I've left the keys in my 650 over night in TO and it was still there in the morning.

What they said. A thief's most likely gonna steal an ss. But drunk people sitting on it/tipping it over is always a concern. Add an alarm and that'll deter the idiots that want to take pictures on it.

If you're really set on it, park a couple of streets north of the club district. It's worth the 5 minute walk to know that your bike is way less likely to get touched.

off-topic: Yesterday I had some dude sit on my bike & try to roll it away. Then I ran out & confronted him and he took off. He came back 2 minutes later and tried to steal my friend's car. hahaha

You drive a 250, chances of it being stolen are slim. not enough money in it for theives.

Your main concern should be sketchy peeps or drunks idiots ****ing with it.

Don't park on the street in the club district or any of the lots there, period. Do not park on the street or lot on King west. Stay on a smaller side street. Less traffic.

I highly recommend the lot at 320 Front St West. Corner of Front and Blue Jays way, entrance off of Windsor. It has a seperate section for motorcycles only on the first level, in full view of the attendent. It's not that busy and it's relatively unknown, and it's also among the cheapest lots downtown on weekend nights. $5 to park overnight!

If you're going to king west, this is a close walk. Alternatively, you can park on King St West of Bathurst and you'll be safe. Same goes for the side streets. Less sketch in that area, and not so many drunks. I would recommend Wellington st, between Portland and Bathurst. Just east of the Thompson. Fairly quite, and well lite. Bikes parked there overnights all the time and they never get ****ed with.
