Hey, my names Lerone, i'm 26 and from Etobicoke. i decided i want to get into riding this year, i was unable to past years because of a bad hip. Had it replaced and now i have the range of motion to get on a bike. I've read the forums on what bike to get, i did want a 600 for 250 makes sense, so i'm going to sell my car to get a Bike & car.

wanted to know what kind of things to get and what kind of insurance rates you pay in Toronto, or you can just point me to the right section.

Thanks

Many variables. Figure out first what bike(s) you're interested in and then call about insurance. TD was great for me. Others swear by state farm. Definitely look into a riding course. As for your bike selection, go see a few dealers, sit on everything and see what interests you. If you've never ridden before I would strongly advise against a supersport. Sounds like you're heading in the right direction with a 250. There are also some options in 300 and honda is now making a 500. Good luck with your search. This forum is great for finding information on.

Start here: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?34-New-Riders-Start-here

read the stickied threads at the top

Move on to here: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?28-Insurance

start budgeting for insurance and understanding how it works

Then here: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/forumdisplay.php?32-Clothing-amp-Gear

Pick up some used gear for your M2 course

Then you can start looking at what courses are best for you, and after you're sure riding is viable and what you wanna do, start looking at getting your first bike. Many people swear by the 250, I'm of the opinion a 650 (SV650, Ninja 650) or 500 (Ninja 500, GS500, CBR500) are far superior starter bikes if you can afford the insurance.
