finally did it after a few years...got my M1 and Bike on the same day. Never been riding so I'm learning everything as I go.
I play on taking a course to
I got a 2012 Honda cbr600 red/blk/white.

anyone know a good place to buy gear and any recommendations.

did you do any research on what bike to get before jumping on a new-ish supersport?

good luck man. take the course ASAP, if there are any spots available.

and welcome.

Royal Distributing has lots of gear. One of their locations might work for you. No connection, just a satisfied customer.

Hey bud. I strongly recommend you take the course before you ride that brand new bike. And you better enrol now as it's close to end of season. You can start learning how to use the clutch and try to find the pinch point as your first lesson (on your drive way)

I buy all my gear from Canadas motorcycle online. Their prices are on par if not competitive with the US vendors (Motorcycle Gear, Revzilla). And it's free shipping if you spend 90 bucks over. Velocity Sportsgear gear has got some good end of season sale. Contact Jimmy Singh here and he'll hook you up with some good gear.

Since you're on a super sport I recommend a full face helmet (dot and /or SNELL certified), a fitted leather motorcycle jacket or textile and riding pants (motorcycle jeans at minimum as regular jeans are not abrasion resistant even at 50kph). Shoes: if you have sturdy shoes that cover your ankles you're good to go.

Word of advice : please be careful with your bike. What you bought is a track weapon with mirrors and turn signals. Take it easy and know your limits. CBRs are tamer than the rest but still proceed with caution.

Have fun and ride safe. Any questions ask or PM me.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely check them out.
Yes I did a lot of research, starting from age 24 now I'm 27. I figured I'd rather start on something I want then a 300 n trade up.

I'll register for the course this week, thanks

Wrong way of looking at it, you should be starting on something that will PREPARE you for something that you want. Regardless, be safe and have fun at tim hortons.

If you haven't already signed up for a course, call RTI on Monday. I'm just home from my first riding day and they are rad. They had CBRs to ride as well as a few other options.
I too got my bike before the course, (albiet a smaller one) and practised the feel of putting it in first, back to neutral, putting kickstand down, turning fuel on, with bike off, then with bike turned on, on my parking pad. Didn't want to develop bad habits I'd have to un-learn while on the course. Think it saved me a lot of grief.
Even just getting comfortable with throwing your leg over the bike, sitting on it and looking straight ahead was helpful.

As for gear I've had great help from GP Bikes, and the previously mentioned Canada's Motorcycle. Try stuff on in a store near you (there's a great thread listing all the shops in the GTA), and check prices online before you buy.

Good luck and have fun!

The emergency breaking they taught must have saved my skin more than once my first season...

lol

Before you do anything get some frame sliders. You'll thank me shortly :)

Thanks for all the good advice, signing up for the course and definitely putting the sliders on. I'm sure I will drop it. Seems like the course really helps
